Fr Ted at niece's wedding in 1996

This is a classic Uncle Teddy moment. My sister - Geraldine - married George Kubis in Rymarov, Moravia in the Czech Republic on July 20, 1996. This is a photograph from the 2-day wedding reception, where various guests were invited to sing at the reception. When Uncle Teddy was encouraged to sing, he had some trouble finding a song in common that both the Czech band and he knew. So he sang the words to Old MacDonald Had a Farm to a rocking-bluesy musical accompaniment. Also in the photograph is my uncle, Luis Andres, playing the keyboard. This song really brought the house down, because those of us at the reception who understood the lyrics thought it was not only genius to sing a childhood song, but it was so well delivered that even the folks who did not understand English loved the song for its vocal merits.

In this photo -- also at the wedding reception -- Uncle Teddy is joking with my other sister, Mary Jo, by putting her hair on his head to freeze a hilarious moment in a photograph. On the right is Gerry Kinsella, our dad, and Fr Ted's brother-in-law.
