The announcement of Father Ted passing away brought back fond memories of the time we spent with him in Houston. We remember, in particular, that Sunday he invited us to the fiesta organised in his parish. Beyond the family ties and childhood memories he and I were fond of reminiscing, we could on that day appreciate how well received he was in that community and the depth of the work he was doing there. Probably, the news of his death did not reach his Texan parishioners but I am sure they cherish their memory of him, as we all do.
